Graduate Council
The Graduate Council serves as the primary policy-making and academic advisory body to the Graduate School Dean. The Graduate Council is responsible for the development and review of policies governing graduate education and programs at the Southern University – Baton Rouge (SUBR). Specific functions include: the review of the graduate program curriculum, review of existing graduate courses, review of letters of intent and proposals for new graduate programs, review and approval of graduate faculty status applications, facilitating support services to graduate students and ensuring that processes and procedures are in place to address graduate student and faculty concerns. According to the revised Graduate Council Policy effective March 12, 2021, the 25 members of the Council include the following:
