Degree Requirements
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
To be awarded a degree in the College of Engineering, students must successfully complete an approved
program of study with the prescribed credit hours and an academic average as specified in the respective
curricula. Students must complete a comprehensive examination with a passing score during the senior year in
the chosen curricula and satisfactorily complete all other required examinations and appropriate community
service requirements.

ABET Requirements
All engineering degree plans must satisfy the requirements specified by the ABET Commission. The course work
must include at least:
- One year (32 SCH) of a combination of college level mathematics and basic sciences (some with
experimental experience) appropriate to the discipline, - A general education component that complements the technical content of the curriculum and is consistent with
the program and institution objectives- - One-half year (16 SCH) of humanities and social sciences,
- One and one-half years (48 SCH) of engineering topics.
Major Design Experience- Students must be prepared for engineering practice through the curriculum culminating in a major design experience based on the knowledge and skills acquired in earlier course work and incorporating appropriate engineering standards and multiple realistic constraints.
