Lawson reelected chair of Southern University System Board; Whitfield reelected vice chair
Today, during its November meeting in New Orleans during Bayou Classic Week, the Southern University System Board of Supervisors reelected Myron K. Lawson chairman for a two-year term.
In addition to the two-year term of 2022-2024, Lawson previously served as Board chairman in 1999 and 2000. He is the owner of a State Farm insurance agency in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Dr. Rani Whitfield was reelected vice chairman of the Board. Whitfield, a physician in Baton Rouge, has served as vice-chairman.
Lawson and Whitfield will be sworn in at the Board’s January 2024 meeting in Baton Rouge.
