MSSION

The mission of the University College Ambassador (UCA) Program is to cultivate student leadership who serve as Ambassadors, peer mentors, role models, and frontline representatives of Southern University.

PEER MENTORSHIP

The FSYE peer-led mentorship program connects first- and second- year students with trained UCAs who serve as peer mentors. The program’s purpose is to promote student success, belonging, and engagement through intentional peer support, guidance, and leadership.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

-ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Ambassador Leadership Development Program empowers students to grow as impactful leaders by building essential skills in leadership, communication, and decision-making. The program fosters self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and ethical leadership while promoting inclusive and culturally responsive practices. Through hands-on experiences in service, mentorship, and networking, participants gain real-world applications that prepare them to lead confidently beyond college—in their careers and communities.

UC Ambassador attend and participate in professional leadership training events on the following dates: (Additional programs and events will be added during the Spring 2026 semester) a) Leadership 101 – October 13th, 2025 – 4:00 pm b) Professional Etiquette – October 27, 2025 – 12:00 pm c) Campus Tours – November 15, 2025 – 0:00 pm d) HBCU Literacy– November 4, 2025 – 12:00 pm e) Public Speaking – November 17, 2025 – 4:00 pm
